The Wood County Historical and Preservation Society is a group of volunteers from all walks of life who are dedicated to preserving the vast history of Wood County, West Virginia. Located on the banks of the Ohio River at the confluence of the Little Kanawha River, Wood County has grown and prospered over the years under the influences of the oil industry, the timber industry, transportation via the rivers and the railroads. Most of all it was through the dedication and hard work of the citizens of Wood County that it has grown and prospered to what it is today.
